CrossCurrents Presents our 50th Anniversary Concert Series
In support of Black Lives Matter

Danny Cox – Folk singer and songwriter Danny Cox has been a fixture of the Kansas City music scene since he moved here from Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1967. Cox played at classic venues like the Vanguard Coffee House in the 1960s, and the Cowtown Ballroom in the ’70s.

Narissa Bond – When she sits down to write a song, or to perform one on stage, she always has something to say – a story to tell, with a point behind it. “A lot of songwriters, their first goal is to entertain – and that’s great, it’s wonderful,” she says. “But that’s not usually my first concern. For me, it’s more about the stories.”

CrossCurrents/Foolkiller stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement in support of the struggle for fair and just treatment for our Black brothers and sisters and for all people of color.

Our vision of culture is to create a positive environment that values all human beings.  We strongly support efforts aimed at creating more humane, just and fair governmental, cultural and societal institutions, including efforts aimed at addressing prevalent police oppression of people of color.  We believe that the arts can and should play a role as our nation works to address this injustice.
