Dance With Us!
Welcome to CrossCurrents Contra Dances in Kansas City, Missouri! We hold our dances on the 4th Saturday of each month at St. Paul’s Episcopal Day School conveniently located in the Westport area near the Country Club Plaza.
Our lively dances are done to live, fiddle-style music with great callers. Contra dances (also called barndances) are great fun and an excellent way to meet new people. Our dance community attracts people from their teens to their 70s. One of the best things about contra dance is there is no partner needed! It is a style of dance that is designed to be social so you get to interact with most everyone in the room within the first hour or so.
Contra dance enjoys a wide popularity around the world. It only takes a few minutes and one simple lesson to learn the basics — then you can dance the night away. Come join us! We’d love to see you!

Lost and Found Policy
The CrossCurrents Dance Council will do its best to recover lost items and return them to their owners. Found items will be locked in our dance cabinet in a locked room off the gym. We will list the items on our website, and they will be kept for 3 months, and then given away if unclaimed.
Dancers MUST NOT VISIT OR CALL THE SCHOOL to retrieve their lost items; it’s against school policy, and school employees have no access to our locked cabinet anyway. TO RECOVER LOST ITEMS, please call the dance council (numbers to the right) or attend the next dance to get the item back. If it’s urgent that you recover the item sooner than the next dance, the dance council will make arrangements with our contact at the school to retrieve the item.
